Is Overseas Business Matching claimable under the MRA Grant?
Yes. Overseas Business Matching falls under the overseas business development pillar of the Market Readiness Assistance (MRA) Grant administered by Enterprise Singapore, which supports the costs of identifying and engaging suitable in-market partners, including business matching consultants.
Following Budget 2026, the support parameters are substantial:
• Support of up to seventy percent of eligible costs for SMEs, with effect from 1 April 2026
• An overall cap of one hundred thousand Singapore dollars per company for each new market
• A pillar cap of fifty thousand Singapore dollars for overseas business development activities, the pillar under which business matching sits
• One activity per application, in a single overseas market
Eligibility requires a business entity registered and operating in Singapore, at least thirty percent local equity, SME status within the group turnover or employment caps, and new-to-market status, meaning annual sales in the target market of one hundred thousand Singapore dollars or less in each of the preceding three years. Applications are submitted on the Business Grants Portal before the project commences, take approximately eight to twelve weeks to process, and grants are disbursed on reimbursement after claims are verified.
As a Registered Management Consultant recognised by Enterprise Singapore, SJ Digital Media Solutions structures its business matching engagements to the grant's requirements as standard practice: eligibility review before application, proposals with defined deliverables, and documentation compiled throughout the project so the claim proceeds without dispute. From the second half of 2026, this support continues under the consolidated EDGE Grant framework.
